SoloPoint Solutions, Inc. is seeking a senior controls engineer to lead a team delivering industrial automation projects across biotech, medical device, and renewable energy sectors in San Francisco, CA.

You will drive architecture, programming, testing, and commissioning, while managing schedules, budgets, and client relationships to ensure successful on-time delivery. This role requires a strong technical background in PLC programming, HMI and SCADA, and a proven ability to collaborate with

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 8+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering with at least 3 years of leadership.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development, SCADA, control panel and electrical systems design.
  • Experience taking automation projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams through estimates, scope and release.
  • Customer-facing role experience and ability to build long-lasting client relationships.
  • Experience providing quotes and involvement in engineering sales processes is a plus.
  • Electrical systems design experience such as interconnect diagrams and control panel layouts helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of controls and data engineers through complex industrial automation projects for clients in biotech, medical device, and renewable energy.
  • Provide technical input throughout architecture development, programming, testing, and commissioning.
  • Responsible for operational execution including schedule, budget, forecasting, project margins.
  • Work with sales team on estimates, proposals, and scope development.
  • Business development involvement will include developing relationships with existing customer and identifying new leads - utilizing knowledge of technology trends to establish credibility.
  • Manage multiple projects while also developing and coaching your engineering staff.

Job description

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 8+ years of industry experience in industrial automation or controls engineering with at least 3 years of leadership or management experience
  • Must be proficient in PLC Programming, HMI Development, SCADA Systems, Control Panel and Electrical Systems Design
  • Experienced taking automation projects from concept development through to commissioning
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional engineering team throughout project phases spanning estimates, scope development, and final release of systems design
  • Must be comfortable in a customer-facing role and able to create and develop long-lasting client relationships
  • Previous experience providing quotes and involvement throughout engineering sales process is an advantage
  • Electrical systems design experience such as interconnect diagrams and control panel layouts helpful but not required
