Job summary

Teoresi Inc is seeking a senior Controls Engineer to lead the development of controls and automation systems for multi‑module equipment from design through commissioning. You will guide controls architecture, program PLCs and HMIs, and develop electrical schematics and BOMs.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in automation, hands‑on experience with Allen‑Bradley systems, and ability to mentor junior engineers while collaborating with mechanical, electrical, suppliers, and customers to ensure on‑time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
• 6+ years of automation experience.
• Experience with machine vision systems (Cognex or Keyence) is a plus.
• Experience leading controls projects and mentoring engineers is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls architecture and automation development for complex systems.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, and automated equipment.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMs.
• Support machine vision, testing systems, installations, commissioning, and service activities.
• Select and evaluate electrical and automation components based on technical and cost requirements.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Assembly, Electricians, suppliers, and customers.
• Support software validation, debugging, and project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior Controls Engineers.

We are looking for a:

to lead the development of controls and automation systems for complex, multi-module equipment, working closely with engineering, assembly, suppliers, and customers from design through commissioning.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead controls architecture and automation development for complex systems


• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, and automated equipment


• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMs


• Support machine vision, testing systems, installations, commissioning, and service activities


• Select and evaluate electrical and automation components based on technical and cost requirements


• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Assembly, Electricians, suppliers, and customers


• Support software validation, debugging, and project execution according to schedule and budget


• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior Controls Engineers

Required Skills:

• Strong hands‑on experience with Allen‑Bradley PLCs, HMIs, servo control, and electrical design


• Experience with industrial automation and controls engineering


• Knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring, control systems, and applicable codes


• Proficiency with EPLAN, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office


• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Profile Completes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field; equivalent experience considered


• 6+ years of automation experience


• Experience with machine vision systems (Cognex or Keyence) is a plus


• Experience leading controls projects and mentoring engineers is a plus


• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and customers
