Crafts IT Solutions is seeking an automation engineer with strong PLC and vision system experience to support maintenance, diagnose issues, and drive process improvements. Key responsibilities include validating equipment, reading schematics, and coordinating cross-functionally with vendors and project teams.

The role requires travel up to 10% to manufacturing sites and suppliers, with emphasis on GuardLogix/CompactLogix/ControlLogix platforms and Cognex/Keyence vision systems.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical support to maintenance as required.
• Troubleshoot machine stoppages and perform root-cause analysis.
• Read electrical schematics and diagnose servo/stepper motion controls.
• Create equipment specifications for vendor quotes and testing.
• Improve processes to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Review quotes, assist design reviews, and support project teams.
• Support supplier qualification and equipment validation activities.
• Coordinate across multiple functional groups; travel up to 10%.

Note: Bachelors and Masters degrees from Computer Science / Information Technology backgrounds will not be considered.

Need both PLC and Vision based on the new equipment we are bringing in...would prioritize Allen-Bradley PLCs and Automated Vision (if Cognex is not available, can be Keyence).

External Skills And Expertise

Skills: Experience with PLC & Vision platforms (GuardLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix Platforms) and HMI's (FactoryTalk ME/SE) and Vision Inspection (Cognex, Keyence)

Previous experience writing code in Ladder, SCL, FBD, and Graph; validation experience

Experience: 3-5 yrs

• Provide technical support to maintenance as required
• Address appropriately related manufacturing issues on a daily basis as need
• Troubleshoot machine stoppages and provide root cause analysis for manufacturing teams
• Ability to read Electrical schematics
• Create and provide equipment specifications to vendors for quoting automated and manual equipment.
• Review and develop process improvements to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of manufacturing systems.
• Review equipment quotes, design reviews and work with project teams to provide custom assembly equipment.
• Key participant in DFMEA, PFMEA, Machine Risk Assessments, and quality (CTQ) processes assuring specifications are well defined and documented.
• Key participant in equipment specifications, supplier selection, and qualification activities.
• Key participant in all Validation activities.
• Communicate and coordinate activities with multiple functional groups both within and outside of operations.
• 10% travel to manufacturing sites and supplier visits required. (Domestic).
• Ability to read Electrical schematics Experience and experience in diagnosing servo and stepper motion control and controllers.
• Proficient in electrical and controls design with experience using NFPA standards with experience in automated assembly equipment with ability to trouble shooting equipment using conventional diagnostic tools

Qualification

Bachelor or Master Degree inElectrical/Controls/Electromechanical Engineering preferred.
