Lockheed Martin National Space Systems is seeking an Associate Contracts Negotiator to join our Space Operations Analytics team of Contracts Professionals. The Contracts profession provides business advice and guidance to other functions including program management, finance, legal, subcontracts, business development, engineering, human resources, accounting, and compliance to effectively manage a breadth of responsibilities, including contract solicitations / capture, negotiations, and contract terms, including fulfillment of related obligations. They also serve as authorized, empowered representative for the Company as interface with Customer buying representatives responsible for building effective relationships and managing contracts to support business goals and objectives. They coordinate solutions to contractual issues and Customer concerns related to Company performance. They ensure contractual compliance with all laws and regulations, and adherence to Delegation of Authority and approval requirements for proposals and contractual actions. They lead and support audits, as appropriate, with internal and external audit teams and agencies to support contract-related activities and verify compliance. They ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations. Additionally, they may plan and participate in training of contract practices within Company, collect contractual data and compile reports in response to Corporate and Business Area requests.

The successful candidate will need to be located in either Herndon, VA or Denver, CO. This position requires full-time, on site presence.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education or relevant experience in lieu of degree.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to persuade and motivate action

- You will need to be a US Citizen, and have a TS clearance to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug a background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills:
- SCI eligible and ability to pass a polygraph exam

-Experience collaboratively interfacing with diverse disciplines such as Program Management or Engineering or Finance or Supply Chain or Property or Business Development or any related area

- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3+ years of professional experience; or 1+ years of professional experience with a Masters degree.

- Knowledge of and experience with acquisition regulations (FAR, DFAR)

- Strong strategic thinker, with the proven ability to collaborate with leaders cross-functionally, and creative contracting experiences in contract management

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment and work well under pressure

- Proven exceptional strategic communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, as well as program and executive management, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.

- Ability to analyze contract terms and risks to mitigate financial impacts

- Possess effective relationship-building skills with peers, leadership, and suppliers

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $63,800 - $112,470. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
