Job summary

Amazon’s Global Corporate Procurement team seeks a Contracts Manager to negotiate and document third-party agreements across diverse spend categories. You will lead end-to-end contract strategy, interfacing with Legal and business leaders to finalize complex contracts.

The role requires managing multiple projects with urgency and proactive problem-solving. Candidate should have broad experience in vendor negotiations and contract management, with strong track record of delivering high-quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations and global contract management.
  • 7+ years of contracts management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operates with autonomy in communicating with Legal, Business and Global Category Managers.
  • Negotiates MSAs, MHSA, MPA, PSA, SOWs, WO, LOI, MOU and term sheets.
  • Monitors renewals, SLAs, KPIs and time-based or performance-based triggers.
  • Develops contract standards, procedures and systems for the team to scale.
  • Orchestrates end-to-end process from kickoff to execution and reports weekly metrics.

As we rapidly become the world’s largest consumer of corporate services in many categories, the Global Corporate Procurement team is seeking a Contracts Manager to join our team to manage negotiations and documentation of a variety of third party contractual relationships in spend categories to include: Professional Services, Benefits, HR Services, Travel, Tax, Legal, Marketing, Technology, and Construction.

Contract Managers play an important role at Amazon, responsible for managing the full end-to-end contract strategy, which will include formulating the commercial deal terms, and representing the business while interfacing with the Legal team through to the conclusion of the contracting process. The ability to orchestrate multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills will be important in the day to day responsibilities of this role within the Global Corporate Procurement department. The Contract Managers are expert practitioners in formulating strong legal positions both pre and post business award. They will work efficiently and independently, managing a high volume of tasks and projects with little guidance, react with appropriate urgency to matters which require a quick turnaround, and think creatively and proactively in order to solve problems.

Primary Responsibilities Of This Role
  • Operates with significant autonomy and discretion in communicating with Legal, the Business and Global Category Managers.
  • Influences at all levels of leadership, both internally and externally, to deliver results.
  • Serves as the principal subject matter expert in all Amazon standard contracts, and almost all external contracts.
  • Negotiates MSA, MHSA, MPA, PSA, Statements of Work, Work Orders, LOI, MOU, Term Sheets, used by the Global Corporate Procurement organization, including legal practice standards and fallback guidelines set by the Legal Department.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for the organization in the application of the Amazon Spending and Transaction Policy and in Amazon’s contract approval processes.
  • Proactively monitors major contracts for renewals, SLAs, KPI attainment and other time-based or performance-based triggers that could impact the business.
  • Develops contract practice standards, operating procedures and systems that enable the broader team of Global Category Managers to scale and work more efficiently and effectively.
  • Orchestrates the end-to-end process from kickoff to full execution. Communicate these results through weekly metrics reporting.
  • Gaining executive stakeholder input on complex projects, framing issues simply and concisely to obtain buy-off to move forward with key decisions/initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis experience
  • 7+ years of contracts management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements with a firm understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
  • Experience managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
