Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Contracts, this role will work closely with program managers, engineering, finance, and legal to ensure contracts are properly structured, administered, and closed in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.

This is a hands-on role in a small, growing Contracts department. You will manage an assigned portfolio of contracts with support from the Sr. Manager, Contracts and serve as a key point of contact with government Contracting Officers and Contracting Officer Representatives. The ideal candidate brings practical government contracts experience, sound judgment, and the initiative to operate effectively in a lean organization.

Responsibilities
Pre-Award
  • Support proposal development, including preparation of representations and certifications, review of terms and conditions, and input on cost and pricing volumes from a contract's perspective.
Award and Negotiation
  • Review and support negotiation of contract terms and FAR/DFARS clauses with government Contracting Officers.
  • Assist with identifying, evaluating, and resolving contractual and business risks during negotiations.
  • Coordinate internal review and approval of contract documents prior to execution.
  • Ensure contracts are properly recorded, distributed, and set up for performance tracking.
  • Support the Sr. Manager, Contracts and Legal Department in preparing negotiation positions, risk summaries, and approval materials.
Post-Award Administration

  • Ensure appropriate FAR/DFARS flowdowns in subcontracts and supplier agreements.
  • Assist with interpreting contract requirements and translating complex contracting concepts into practical guidance for internal stakeholders.
Compliance and Audit Support
  • Maintain contract files in audit-ready condition in accordance with applicable record retention requirements.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for routine DCAA and DCMA interactions, audits, and information requests, with support from the Sr. Contracts Manager and Legal Department as needed.

  • Maintain appropriate closeout documentation in the contract file.
