The Site Contracts Coordinator will provide contract coordination services following corporate guidelines, procedures, Vale values, principles and policies. Additionally, the Site Contracts Coordinator will be responsible for the administration and tracking of the project’s contracts in three areas: services, surface construction, and underground construction while supporting the contracts owners. The role will support the mobilization, execution, and administration of the contracts during the project period, working closely with the various departments and stakeholders. The key objective will be to minimize the operating and financial risk and the demand for resources for effective and efficient contract execution.

Senior Project / Lead Project Engineer

Accomplished Project Engineer / Lead Project Engineer with 18+ years of experience delivering complex industrial, petrochemical, oil & gas, LNG, CO₂, and process plant projects across Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.

Extensive background in project management, engineering, planning & scheduling, cost estimation, budgeting, construction oversight, commissioning, and project handover.

Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams through the full project lifecycle while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and engineering standards.

Experience with major organizations including QAPCO (Qatar Petrochemical Company), GE Oil & Gas, Qatar Vinyl Company, and Olayan Descon.

Strong client-facing leader with expertise in stakeholder management, change management, progress reporting, issue resolution, and cross-functional team coordination.

Skilled in developing and implementing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project controls, cost forecasting, and project execution plans.

Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime, enhance equipment reliability, and optimize project delivery performance.

Experience supporting LNG, CO₂ processing, petrochemical, and industrial infrastructure projects, ensuring completion within schedule and budget constraints.

Knowledge of ASME codes and industry engineering standards for equipment and piping design.

Recognized for mentoring engineers, developing technical teams, implementing process improvements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Overall: Senior engineering and project management professional with deep expertise in EPC/project execution environments, capable of leading large multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex industrial and petrochemical projects from concept through commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities / Tasks
  • The Site Contract Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight and contract management for all contracts executed with work to be performed at the Project Site;
  • Support the coordination of contractor mobilization, workforce ramp up, equipment training, certification and signoff, etc.;
  • Support the development of contractor process and protocols during the mobilization process;
  • Ensure the Contractor executes the work in accordance with the terms of the Contract;
  • Support Project Office Contract Coordinator with Change Management i.e. Field Work Instructions, Contract Change Orders & the pre and post Change Order work;
  • Monitor and support the tracking of cost and schedule progress in conjunction with Project Controls team;
  • Support the forecasting, planning, and management of contractual services, such as labor and ramp up, according to targets and direction from the project team;
  • Maintain tracking logs for deliveries, mobilization, claims, warranty, issues and changes;
  • File and archive all contractual documentation, maintaining progress meeting minutes;
  • Maintain relevant information to refute potential claims;
  • Assist close out of purchase order in SAP and archive final documentation;
  • Support the Contracts Owner in assessing the performance of the Contractor, through the use of key performance indicators and audits;
  • Ensure the mobilization and utilization of contracted services with the SEM-Hatch and Vale norms, procedures, and policies;
Qualifications
  • Post Secondary education in Business Management, Law or Engineering preferred.
  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in contracts management, preferably in a project environment on industrial or mining projects.
  • Proven experience with entire contract administration cycle of contracts in excess of $1M million; understanding of key controls and processes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite and SAP.
  • Ability to multitask, change priorities, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
