Job summary

Pro QC International seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to assess supplier capabilities, evaluate manufacturing processes, and drive improvements that strengthen quality and production readiness. You will work with suppliers and internal teams to identify risks, investigate root causes, and communicate actionable findings.

The role involves 1099 contract work on a part-time basis with travel around Pittsburgh area, including Irwin, PA, and nearby locations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality) or related field.
At least 3 years of experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, audits, or related areas.
Familiarity with production tooling, injection molding, metal injection molding, and inspection tools.
ASQ CQE/CQA preferred; ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct supplier capacity audits and production capacity assessments.
Audit manufacturing processes including metal injection molding.
Evaluate tooling and injection molding equipment and other manufacturing equipment.
Review quality systems, documentation, and inspection methods.
Perform risk assessments and root-cause analysis; track corrective actions.
Support supplier quality management and continuous process improvement.
Prepare reports and communicate findings clearly.
