SSI SCHÄFER seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to assess supplier capabilities, evaluate manufacturing processes, and drive improvements that strengthen quality and production readiness. You’ll collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to identify risks, investigate root causes, and communicate actionable findings.

This 1099 contract role involves audits of capacity, tooling reviews, and performance of inspection methods. Travel around Pittsburgh area may be required, with day shift on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 3+ years in quality engineering, supplier quality, or manufacturing audits.
• Familiar with tooling, injection molding equipment, and inspection methods.
• ASQ CQE/CQA preferred; ISO 9001 Lead Auditor preferred.

Responsabilités

• Conduct supplier capacity audits and production capacity assessments.
• Audit manufacturing processes, including metal injection molding.
• Evaluate production tooling and injection molding equipment.
• Review quality systems, documentation, and inspection methods.
• Perform risk assessments and root-cause analysis; track corrective actions.
• Support supplier quality management and continuous improvement.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings clearly.
