Job summary

ABB is seeking a Contractor Key Account Manager – West to develop and manage strategy and relationships with large contractor accounts in the West region. This remote role prefers candidates in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City or Denver. You will drive account plans, growth, and executive relationships to grow share of wallet and profitability.

You’ll work cross-functionally within ABB’s IBC team to deliver results, monitor pipelines, and address customer challenges while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; marketing degree acceptable.
• 12 years in electrical industry with contractors and distributors.
• Knowledge of Electrification products and quoting for contractors.
• Willingness to travel; authorized to work in the United States.

Your role and responsibilities:

The Contractor Key Account Manager – West develops, implements, and manages the strategy and relationship with assigned large contractor accounts. Assigned customers primarily have locations in the West Region. The position is part of the ABB Industry, Buildings and Channel (IBC) team, with significant cross-functional responsibilities. As the point person for the ABB relationship within those organizations, the key account manager is responsible for growing share of wallet, profitability, and elevating customer satisfaction. Coordinates executive relationships within the key accounts, sets goals, tracks pipeline, organizes sales activities, monitors current projects, and manages the resolution of the key customer challenges.

While this is a remote position, preference is for candidates located in one of the following metro areas: Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, AZ, Salt Lake City, UT or Denver, CO.

This role is contributing to the Electrification IBC (Industry, Buildings and Channel) team in the Western United States.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Leading the development and implementation of the account plan and Statement of Work growth actions.
• Understanding the key business drivers, including significant and emerging business risks (e.g., sustainability/digital/cybersecurity) of the relevant global customer’s business and business environment, translating them into the corresponding impacts and opportunities for ABB.
• Participating in the development of sales strategies for the account through providing current business and long-term plans for the customer.
• Defining sales targets, giving input on market price developments monitoring competitors’ activity with the account and ensuring that appropriate response strategies are implemented.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Marketing related degree or equivalent
• 12 years of experience within the electrical industry incl experience with working with contractors and distributors in the California, Pacific Northwest, Mountain and Chicago area is a requirement.
• Strong understanding of the Electrification products and experience with quoting projects for contractors
• Experience in conducting market analysis and business development plans with solid structured approach.
• Technical background with experience with low/medium voltage electrical equipment is preferred
• Willingness to travel as needed. Preferred base location would be in Nevada, Arizona, Utah or Colorado area.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United States.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $119,000 and $190,400 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
