Job Title: Contracting Specialist SME -5869

Job Location: Remote

Job Salary: $155,000-$180,000

Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a qualified and motivated individual

for the role of Senior Contracting Specialist SME. This position offers the

opportunity to work remotely with a skilled and diverse team committed to

supporting mission success.

In this role, you will support the Galapagos Team Lead and work closely with

the Director of the Space Systems Command's Commercial Space Office

Contracting Office (SSC/CMK). You'll help plan and execute

acquisitions across a range of products and services, ensuring compliance

with government regulations and acquisition best practices. Your efforts will

support SSC/CMK contracting officers in procuring commercial services and

capabilities for the United States Space Force and Department of Defense.

The ideal candidate will possess proven leadership and supervisory

experience, with a strong background in contract management and a deep

understanding of acquisition processes. This role demands a strategic thinker

with sharp analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the

ability to manage multiple priorities while leading effectively in a

dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Compensation Minimum: $155,000

Compensation Maximum: $180,000

Senior Contracting Specialist SME Skills And Experience

Active Secret Clearance Remote work opportunity 10+ years of experience in

government contracting 5+ years as a Contracting Officer with warrant

authority of at least $5 million Demonstrated expertise in both CON-IT and

KTFS systems Broad experience providing cradle-to-grave contract support

Skilled in conducting market research and developing pre- and post-award

solicitation documentation Experienced in reviewing proposals for regulatory

compliance, supporting source selection, and evaluating contract or

engineering change proposals In-depth knowledge of FAR and DFARS, with

practical experience working with DCAA and DCMA to ensure regulatory

compliance

Bachelor's degree Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act

(DAWIA) Contracting Professional Certification, or equivalent industry

certification (e.g., Certified Federal Contract Manager)

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security

clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a

security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing

and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility,

including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a

prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds,

as necessary.
