Job summary

Williams College seeks a Contracting Specialist to join the newly formed Department of Risk Management, Insurance, and Procurement on the Main Campus in Williamstown, MA. This inaugural role will build centralized contract management services for campus-wide needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.
• Experience independently drafting and editing contracts and altering boilerplate language.
• Experience guiding stakeholders to define needs, evaluate bids, and convert winning bids into contracts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departments to map the current contracting landscape.
• Prepare RFPs, bid recordkeeping, analyze bids, and present options.
• Assist departments in selecting final bids and answering questions about bids.
• Develop and maintain a contracts database.
• Deliver training on contract management processes and policy.
• Update procurement guides, templates, and FAQs for staff reference.
• Develop and maintain a preferred vendor list; conduct market research for best value.
• Maintain vendor performance metrics.
• Process purchase requisitions and orders using Workday.
