Job summary

Critical Materials Group is seeking a Contracting Officer to lead contracting actions remotely with travel. You will own prime contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements, ensuring compliance and proper execution across programs.

You will work with Growth, Government, and Program Leadership to win solicitations, translate regulatory requirements, and guide contract strategy in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with government contracting and OTAs.
• Ability to interpret FAR/DFARS and regulatory requirements.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience drafting and negotiating prime/subcontracts and NDAs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the contracting POC for all government and commercial contract actions.
• Own the lifecycle of prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, NDAs, and MOUs.
• Ensure all programs are structured, documented, and negotiated for successful execution.
• Support Growth and Government teams in proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, OTA submissions, and other solicitations.
• Advise Program Leadership on regulatory compliance, contractual obligations, risk posture, and execution requirements.
• Maintain expertise in FAR/DFARS, OTAs, T&Cs, and emerging acquisition pathways.
• Coordinate with legal, finance, and technical teams to ensure alignment across contract actions.

Position Summary

The Contracting Officer is CMG's contracting nerve center — the single point of accountability for all agreements, compliance, and acquisition execution. This role serves as CMG's primary contracting point of contact, responsible for owning, managing, and negotiating all contract vehicles, subcontractor agreements, teaming arrangements, and related documentation, and for ensuring programs are structured for successful execution with contractual obligations, terms, and regulatory requirements fully understood and adhered to across the company. The Contracting Officer partners closely with the Head of Government and Growth, Government stakeholders, and Program Leadership to prepare compliant, compelling responses to government solicitations and to guide programs through execution as the company's subject-matter expert on federal acquisition regulations, OTAs, terms and conditions, and contract strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Prior government contracting warrant or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs).
• Strong background in business proposals, cost volumes, and technical volume coordination.
• Deep knowledge of FAR-based contracts, DFARS, and federal acquisition processes.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance for technical and program teams.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Remote position, working closely with Growth, Government, Program Leadership, Legal, and Finance stakeholders across the contract lifecycle. Standard home-office physical demands (extended computer use, video meetings).
