Job summary

SGS is seeking Welding Inspectors for contract assignments across multiple locations in the United States. The role involves visual inspections, witnessing NDT, and ensuring compliance with ASME/AWS/API standards. Independent contractor (1099) arrangements apply.

Qualified candidates will have extensive welding inspection experience (5–10 years), with credentials such as AWS/CWI/CSWIP/API. Competitive hourly pay and per diem potential are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one of AWS / CWI / CSWIP/API credentials.
• Minimum five (5) years welding-related inspection experience; two in QA/vendor surveillance/shop inspections.
• 5–10 years of industry experience, primarily Oil & Gas; knowledge of welding inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of welds and witnessing NDT as required.
• Verify welding parameters, materials, and equipment per codes (ASME, AWS, API).
• Review WPS/PQR, assess quality, and issue reports or corrective action recommendations.
• Ensure all welding activities conform to applicable industry codes and contractual requirements.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting results and issues.
