Dynamic Digital is building a bench of contract front-end developers to handle client projects. You’ll work across the stack, implementing interfaces that users interact with, consuming REST APIs, and collaborating on WordPress-powered sites and applications.

Ideal candidates have 2–7 years of web development experience, solid PHP/SQL skills, and the ability to work independently on contract, project-by-project engagements. Fully remote in the U.S. with Eastern-hour coordination.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are building a bench of contract developers we can call on as client work comes in.

We are looking for a front-end focused web developer who is comfortable working across the stack. You will build the interfaces our clients' customers actually use - new sites, single-page web applications, and feature work on sites already in production. You do not need to architect back-end systems, but you should be able to work confidently against one: consume REST APIs, read and write SQL, and work in PHP well enough to know where a problem is coming from.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Integrate front ends with RESTful APIs, databases, and third-party services.
• Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins, and work carefully inside existing client sites.
• Contribute to single-page web applications from scope through launch.
• Write and tune SQL queries, and work comfortably in PHP against an existing back end.
• Maintain and improve sites already in production - diagnosing issues, resolving bugs, and improving speed.
• Write, test, and maintain high-quality code across multiple projects.
• Review every line you ship, including anything produced with AI assistance, for correctness, quality, and security.
• Work closely with our team - account management, design, and leadership - to deliver work clients are happy with.
• Test before deployment and follow current standards and best practices.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for the systems you build and touch.
• Work from written scopes provided by the account team, and flag scope changes early - before the hours are spent.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2-7 years of professional web development experience
• Experience consuming and integrating RESTful APIs
• Working knowledge of SQL (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
• PHP. Much of our client work runs on WordPress, so PHP is required, not a nice-to-have.
• Enough back-end familiarity to work against an existing server-side codebase without needing it explained
• Working knowledge of WordPress theme and plugin development
• Solid understanding of version control (Git)
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools. You are accountable for what you ship with them: AI-generated code gets the same review for quality and security as anything you write by hand.
• Ability to work independently and deliver functional solutions with minimal oversight
• Clear written communication — most of our coordination is asynchronous
• Availability for occasional scheduled calls during Eastern business hours
• A portfolio and a GitHub account we can review. Formal degree not required.

HOW THE ENGAGEMENT WORKS

• Independent contractor (1099). You invoice us; you are not an employee of Dynamic Digital.
• Hourly at $50-$75, depending on experience and the work. Rate is agreed before each project.
• Project-by-project. No minimum hours are guaranteed, and we do not ask for exclusivity.
• Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Being accepted to our bench is not a commitment of work by either side.
• Every project is scoped in writing - deliverables, hour estimate, and deadline - before work begins.
• Fully remote anywhere in the United States. Our team is in Willow Grove, PA and works Eastern hours.
• You control your own schedule, tools, and how the work gets done.
