Job summary

Utah Department of Cultural & Community Engagement is seeking a Web Accessibility Assistant contractor to update department websites to meet elevated federal accessibility standards. You will work with the Web Manager and state IT to implement WCAG 2.1 AA, primarily on Wordpress sites using Cornerstone templates, and assist with PDF remediation.

Training will be provided and much of the work may be done remotely after onboarding, with regular check-ins.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience implementing WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Proficiency using WAVE and Pope Tech API.
• Experience with Wordpress and Cornerstone Builder; UX basics.
• Attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Update Wordpress sites using Cornerstone Builder while preserving design.
• Apply accessibility updates to meet federal standards.
• Remediate PDFs to align with accessibility standards.
• Attend state virtual accessibility office hours and collaborate with Web Manager.
