Eocene Environmental Group, Inc. seeks a Contract Vegetation Program Manager to lead field teams across diverse landscapes, coordinating with utility partners and shaping sustainable right-of-way practices.

Office is outdoors; strong leadership, forestry or environmental science background, and ISA certification preferred; compensation $39–$45 per hour with employee-owned culture and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or experience in Forestry, Utility Arboriculture, or Environmental Science.
• Leadership experience with contractor work practices.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
• ISA Certified Arborist (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate VM program support and scheduling of VM activities.
• Serve as liaison between clients, crews, and customers.
• Assist with field visits and review of VM work.
• Submit inspection results and recommendations.
• Promote safety practices on job sites and maintain equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Support the Vegetation Management (VM) Program through operations coordination, process improvement initiatives, and scheduling of VM activities.
• Assist with customer issues (complaints, refusals, access) and clarify contractor expectations and program direction as directed by the PG&E Representative.
• Monitor pre-inspection and tree work progress; perform database "sleuthing" to identify and resolve issues.
• Assist with agency meetings and field visits to review VM work as directed by the PG&E Program Manager.
• Provide support to Vegetation Management Inspectors (VMIs) Submit inspection results and recommendations; address and negotiate crew access issues.
• Serve as liaison between clients, tree crews, and customers.
• Promote and enforce safety practices on job sites; maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by PG&E Representatives or EOCW management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid state-issued driver’s license and clean MVR
• Degree or experience in Forestry, Utility Arboriculture, Environmental Science, or related field
• Leadership experience and familiarity with contractor work practices
• UVM experience is preferred
• ISA Certified Arborist (preferred)
• Strong species identification and invasive species knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently in rugged terrain and inclement weather
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting maps
