Job summary

Aerotek in Grimes, IA is seeking a Welder to perform high-quality MIG welding on steel assemblies in a clean fabrication environment. You may also perform TIG or stick welding, read blueprints, and document work orders and production times.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork on a first- and second-shift schedule. Responsibilities include welding per specifications, maintaining equipment, and operating cutting torches when needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year MIG or TIG welding experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient MIG welding on steel assemblies.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specs.
• Experience with TIG or stick welding and cutting torches.
• Grinding and basic fabrication skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Welds MIG on steel assemblies per blueprints and production needs.
• Reads and interprets blueprints to determine welds and specs.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and reports safety issues.
• Records work orders and production times accurately.
• Operates cutting torches for fabrication and modifications.
• Performs grinding and basic fabrication tasks as required.
