We are partnering with a reputable closed-door long-term care pharmacy in Meadville, PA, to find a skilled Pharmacy Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity for techs with relevant experience to join a dynamic team in a specialized setting. Job Responsibilities
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter prescription orders and patient information into the pharmacy management system (Frameworks).
  • Medication Fulfillment and Dispensing: Assist with the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
  • E-kit Preparation: Assemble emergency kits (E-kits) for long-term care facilities, ensuring that all required medications are included and properly labeled.
  • Blister Packaging: Package medications into blister packs for patient use in long-term care settings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing medication inventory, including restocking, checking expiration dates, and reporting shortages to the supervising pharmacist.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all federal and state regulations, ensuring the safe handling of medications and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Pharmacy System
  • Frameworks: Experience with this pharmacy software is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided if needed.
Work Schedule
  • Days/Evenings: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including both day and evening shifts.
  • Rotating Weekends: Required to work weekends on a rotating basis, as part of the full-time schedule.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience in either retail, long-term care, or hospital settings. Previous experience with data entry, medication fulfillment, and blister packaging is a plus.
  • Certification: PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.
  • State Requirements: Pennsylvania does not regulate pharmacy technicians, so a license is not required. However, candidates must demonstrate relevant hands-on experience.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative attitude.
