Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an SPED Teacher to support 3rd-5th grade students in an on-site, short-term leave coverage near Glendale Heights, IL. This full-time assignment runs from early November 2026 through late January 2027, excluding winter break.

You will deliver individualized instruction, develop and implement IEPs, adapt curriculum, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting, ideally with elementary grades.
• Comfortable working with various settings and caseload types.
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with other teachers and staff.
• Dedicated to fostering inclusion and empowering students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and individualized instruction to 3rd-5th grade students with special education needs.
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Adapt curriculum to meet students' unique learning goals.
• Monitor student progress, maintain clear records, and communicate updates with parents and staff.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and success.
• Participate in team meetings and provide expertise on best practices for special education.
