government. You will provide cradle-to-grave acquisition support across planning, solicitation, award, administration, and closeout of fixed-price and cost-type contracts, involving complex supplies, services, and IT.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of U.S. Government contracting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; required staple certifications/credentials per position.
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in federal acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and support acquisition planning activities.
  • Draft RFQs, RFPs, and combined synopsis/solicitations.
  • Perform cost and price analysis.
  • Support source-selection activities.
  • Prepare contract award documentation.
  • Support IDIQ, BOA, BPA, Task Order, and Delivery Order actions.
  • Assist with post-award contract administration, including modifications, claims, and contract closeout.
  • Perform acquisition activities in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and local policies.
  • Work with government contracting personnel to support acquisition requirements throughout the contract lifecycle.

Position Overview

A government professional-services firm is seeking experienced Contract Specialists to support a potential U.S. Navy contract at a shipyard in Kittery, Maine. This is a contingent position, contingent on contract award, government approval, and meeting applicable position requirements.

The Contract Specialist will provide comprehensive, cradle-to-grave acquisition support within a U.S. Navy Contracting & Logistics Department. The successful candidate will assist government contracting officers with the planning, solicitation, award, administration, and closeout of fixed-price and cost-type contracts involving complex supplies, services, and information technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct market research and support acquisition planning activities.
  • Draft RFQs, RFPs, and combined synopsis/solicitations.
  • Perform cost and price analysis.
  • Support source-selection activities.
  • Prepare contract award documentation.
  • Support IDIQ, BOA, BPA, Task Order, and Delivery Order actions.
  • Assist with post-award contract administration, including modifications, claims, and contract closeout.
  • Perform acquisition activities in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and applicable local command policies.
  • Work closely with government contracting personnel to support acquisition requirements throughout the contract lifecycle.
Work Location & Schedule
  • Location: On-site at a U.S. Navy shipyard in Kittery, Maine
  • Employment: Full-time, W-2
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day
  • Operating Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time
  • Telework: Only when approved by the government
Eligibility Requirements

5 years of U.S. Government contracting experience; a specified contracting certification or equivalent; a bachelor's degree; advanced Excel skills; and proficiency in federal acquisition systems.

Candidates must also:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be eligible to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Be eligible for DBIDS base access, including a favorable background investigation.
  • Be able to work on-site in Kittery, Maine.
Security clearance note

The solicitation references an active security clearance at the time of award. The specific clearance level is currently being confirmed with the Contracting Officer.

Compensation: $110,000 annually
