KONE Americas is seeking a Contract Specialist in a hybrid role (Lisle/ Moline area) to review, revise, and negotiate complex contracts for construction, modernization, maintenance, and repair. You will minimize risk while liaising with business partners and internal teams to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

The role requires 5+ years of high-profile contract experience, a relevant degree or paralegal/JD certification, and proficiency with CLM tools and document management platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or JD or paralegal certification or equivalent contract-management experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing complex commercial contracts with risk mitigation recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and deadline-tracking skills.
• Strong issue-spotting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer-service orientation, and the ability to build effective relationships with business partners while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Review, analyze, revise, and negotiate construction, modernization, service and repair contracts to reduce risk.
• Assess terms and conditions, clarifications and compliance before and during contracting.
• Advise branches and act as point of contact within the Law Department for contracts.

If you answered a resounding **YES** to these questions, then we have an amazing opportunity for you!**Location of position: This position is hybrid and involves a mix of on-site and remote workdays.** As our **Contract Specialist,** you will protect KONE’s reputation and business interests and help ensure it complies with all relevant laws and regulations. The primary focus of this position is to expand the functions and capabilities of Contract Management by handling high risk/high exposure contracts with minimal attorney involvement. Under minimal supervision, reviews, analyzes, revises, and negotiates construction, modernization, service and repair contracts to reduce risk for KONE. You will bring 5+ years of experience working with high profile, high exposure contracts to KONE. Bachelor or JD degree preferred, paralegal certification or equivalent experience in a similar field.## ## Other Listed Duties:* Assist branch with assessment of terms and conditions, clarifications and compliance requirements prior to and during the bidding or contracting stage.* Research statutory and common law legal issues.* Within the Law Department, point of contact for contracts.* Advise branches when order entry is incorrect or incomplete.* Analyze customer response to the Rider/Addendum using analytical skills to determine if the customer response is acceptable per the KONE guidelines.* Negotiate the necessary insurance and/or bonds per the term of the contract.* Report to the manager any issues that require modification to the Work Instructions, areas that require additional training or issues within the schedule process. **Hiring Requirements:*** Bachelor's degree, Paralegal Certification, JD, or equivalent combination of education and relevant contract management experience.* 5+ years of experience managing complex commercial contracts, with ability to identify risks and provide practical risk-mitigation recommendations.* Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills with proven ability to manage multiple contracts and meet deadlines.* Strong issue-spotting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer-service orientation, and the ability to build effective relationships with business partners while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality.**Technical Aptitude:*** Experience working within Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool or similar contract management.* Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) and contract administration tools such as DocuSign, Cobblestone, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.* Ability to leverage technology to improve contract review, document management, and workflow efficiency (familiarity with AI-enabled contract review or legal technology tools is a plus, not required). *At KONE, we foster an innovative and collaborative culture, valuing each individual's contribution. The compensation package offered will depend on candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role, needs for the business strategy, and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.* We will also consider candidates in the following areas.
