Job summary

Sevita is looking for a Contract Specialist to join their Corporate legal team in Minneapolis. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts to ensure compliance with legal standards. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of contract law.

You will work collaboratively with various corporate departments and assist in managing the Contracts Management System. This position offers the opportunity to enhance contract processes and directly support senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience in an in‑house legal department is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SOWs, NDAs, and MSAs is strongly preferred.

Job description

Summary

As a Contract Specialist for the Corporate legal team, you will work alongside corporate attorneys and corporate paralegals and be part of a broader legal team. You will collaborate with the procurement team to provide contracting support to other corporate departments and operations teams.

Essential Job Functions
  • Draft, review, edit, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with legal standards and organizational policies
  • Escalate contract issues and non-standard terms where necessary in accordance with Sevita’s established processes and policies
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including outside counsel when necessary
  • Manage lifecycle of contracts from initial request to full execution
  • Monitor contract compliance throughout the lifecycle
  • Assist with managing Sevita’s Contracts Management System
  • Provide advice related to contract matters to operations and corporate departments, including members of senior leadership and the Executive team
  • Identify contract process enhancements
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned
  • Perform other related duties and activities as required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least five (5) years of experience reviewing and negotiating contracts
  • Experience working for an in‑house legal department strongly preferred
  • Experience with SOWs, NDAs, MSAs, and other contracts strong preferred

  • Normal Office Work, Data Entry: Sedentary work.
