Job summary

Unify America is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer on a 6–12 month contract to build and extend platforms powering civic programs. You will ship features end to end, set high code quality standards, and mentor peers while collaborating with the CTO, product managers, and program teams.

Key tasks include expanding TS/Node.js backend and Vue.js frontend, modeling data in PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and deploying on AWS (Lambda, S3, Aurora, DynamoDB, IAM).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and NodeJS; Python is a plus.
• VueJS (preferred) or React experience.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL and MongoDB schema design.

Responsibilities

• Ship features end to end and mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with CTO, product manager and program teams to translate civic needs into reliable software.
• Design and update data models in MongoDB and PostgreSQL, with review from senior engineers.
• Work with AWS services (Lambda, S3, Aurora, DynamoDB, IAM) in development and deployment.
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Help build out our plugin-based civic assembly platform.
