Job summary

Franklin General Hospital is seeking a Sleep Technologist for a full-time contract role in Iowa. The technologist will perform nocturnal polysomnography, set up sleep studies, and train sleep interns as needed.

Responsibilities include acquiring PSG data, following MSLT/CPAP/oxygen protocols, maintaining equipment and room cleanliness, reviewing orders, and administering medications per physician guidance. Strong patient care and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered with ABR or related board and able to obtain a sleep medicine certificate.
• Must maintain CEUs current.
• Iowa licensure required by Iowa Department of Public Health.

Responsibilities

• Performs polysomnographic data acquisitions with artifact-free signals.
• Follows protocols (MSLT, CPAP and oxygen titration) to collect data.
• Cleans electrodes, CPAP mask, patient room and equipment; prepares for sterilization; cleans scalp.
• Reviews orders, medications and medical history; determines monitoring parameters and communicates with the physician.
• Administers medications and supplemental oxygen as directed by physician.
• Recognizes and responds to serious medical problems per protocol; notifies on-call physician.
