Job summary

Terrana Biosciences, a Flagship Pioneering portfolio company, seeks a Contract Senior Research Associate for the Delivery and Transformation team in Durham, NC. You will design and execute plant delivery experiments, and maintain rigorous records while collaborating across disciplines.

Requirements include a BS/MS in Plant science-related field with 3–5 years of lab experience, hands-on protoplast expression, and proficiency in Agrobacterium, biolistic, nanoparticle, and viral delivery.

Qualifications

• BS in Plant Science or related field with 5+ years of lab experience or MS with 3+ years of lab experience.
• Experience with protoplast transient expression systems preferred.
• Experience with plant delivery techniques and disease phenotyping.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Establish and use plant protoplast transient expression systems.
• Phenotype plants for disease symptoms.
• Collaborate to optimize delivery/transformation methods and bioassays.
• Maintain accurate records and support project management.
