Job description

Application deadline: Aug 19, 2026

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading cloud provider, delivering virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services to customers all over the world.

The AWS Security team is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Amazon's industrial security program in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). As a Security Program Manager, you will join a team of industry-leading security experts working with the U.S. Government to operate and continuously improve security programs and processes in support of the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. This position requires innovative thinking balanced with a strong customer obsession and a focus on quality and delivering results. This position also requires extensive knowledge and experience in managing security programs in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs). New position created due to appropriately staff against customer requirements.

AWS Security is looking for an exceptional security leader with a strong track record of developing, supporting, and maintaining security programs within cleared facilities, demonstrable program/project management experience, comprehensive program security knowledge, and a deep understanding of government security programs, processes, and requirements.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilities
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for executing all security activities required to support the contract, using program management skills to track internal and external meetings, RFIs, and action items in approved tools.
  • Liaise with AWS Security and non‑Security personnel to understand contract requirements and translate them into actionable security activities, hosting recurring and ad hoc meetings to maintain program alignment.
  • Propose solutions to security obstacles to senior leadership and track all actions and requirements to closure.
  • Provide comprehensive program security guidance across the full range of disciplines: personnel, physical, operational, technical, information, industrial, counterintelligence, and computer security.
  • Create, implement, communicate, and manage security requirements at a large, government‑accredited, multi‑facility data center site, delivering day‑to‑day multi‑discipline security operations support.
  • Further develop and refine a compliance‑focused security program of record.
  • Proactively identify security requirements and problems and drive sound solutions to sustain and enhance program execution.
  • Support the operations and maintenance of onsite security hardware and systems to meet government and AWS requirements.
  • Build relationships with internal and external partners to heighten security awareness.
  • Share on‑call rotations supporting alarms, security incidents, and critical service outages.

A day in the life

No two days as a Contract Security Lead look exactly alike. You might start by syncing with AWS Security and contract stakeholders to translate new customer requirements into concrete security activities, then host the recurring security alignment meeting to keep the program on track. Midday, you could be working an RFI, clearing a security obstacle with senior leadership, or coordinating with the FSO and DCSA on a facility matter. You will track every action and requirement in approved tools, partner with engineers and operations staff onsite, and stay ready to support alarms or incidents during shared on‑call rotations.
