Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens.
• Record maintenance data and decontamination; update patient information.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and properly label/centrifuge specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and participate in trainings.
