Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist in Spartanburg, SC. The contract position runs for about 3 months with potential for permanent placement, working Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm.

Expect duties including blood draws, specimen labeling, and accurate data entry with strict adherence to safety protocols. Qualified candidates will have a valid phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced setting, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification required by state of employment.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
• Centri- and decant specimens as required; manage specimen handling and storage.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Record maintenance data and decontamination steps per protocol.
• Match lab requisitions to specimens and verify test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper cold chain where needed.
