Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Albany, NY. Hours are M-TH 9:30a-6:30p, Friday 9a-5:30p, and every other Saturday 7a-12:30p, with an expected duration of 3 months and potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include performing venipuncture, labeling and handling specimens, and ensuring proper transport and documentation. Minimum 2 years of experience is requested plus a valid phlebotomy certification where required.

Qualifications

• Certification as a phlebotomist required in applicable state(s).
• Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles; verify orders and match requisitions.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Ensure proper transport packaging and specimen storage per protocol.
