Job summary

Your Talent Team in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role requires blood draws, specimen handling, labeling, and adhering to OSHA/DEP protocols. Shift is 6:30am-2:30pm, M-F with rotating Saturdays, located in Lakeland, Florida.

Minimum 2 years of experience and a valid phlebotomy certification are required. Benefits are available and the position offers contract-to-perm potential after the initial term.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Attend annual department trainings
