Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a part-time real estate and land use attorney for engagement through the firm’s contract attorney and alternative staffing program, DWTSurge. This position supports land use matters for clients in Washington, requiring knowledge of Washington real estate and land use law, with active bar admission in the applicant's state and a state where DWT maintains an office.
The role involves working independently on real estate and land use transactional matters, including permitting, siting, and developing residential, public, and commercial projects. The attorney will analyze land use compliance, support landowners in litigation and administrative hearings, and manage complex real estate closings.
Ideal candidates are mid to senior level attorneys seeking flexibility and reduced hours, working 8-12 hours weekly with potential to increase. Candidates should be based in WA and willing to work from Seattle, WA, ideally establishing a flexible, exclusive working relationship with the firm.
This is a temporary contract, hourly paid, with no benefits. Compensation ranges from $100 to $160 per hour, depending on experience and location. Benefits include telemedicine, employee assistance, pet insurance, lactation support, and wellness apps. Paid sick leave is accrued biweekly in Washington.
