Job summary

Heli Preflight in San Antonio, Texas is seeking an experienced NDT inspector to support aerospace weapon systems inspection. You will use radiography, eddy current, penetrant, magnetic particle and ultrasonic methods to assess structural integrity and report defects to the repair center.

The role requires NAS410 level II/III certification, completion of the NDI Training Course, and the ability to operate laser alignment equipment.

Qualifications

• NAS410 Level II or III certification in radiography, eddy current, penetrant, magnetic particle and ultrasonic methods.
• Complete Non-Destructive Inspection Training Course and maintain basic qualification.
• Shall perform laser alignment using laser tracking equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using NDI methods.
• Interpret test results and communicate defects to repair center and radiographic operations team.
• Perform NDI on structures to detect cracks, delamination, voids, and heat damage with standard equipment.
• Determine metallurgical information and operate/maintain NDI equipment and shop tools.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.

Description

• Shall inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods.
• Shall interpret nondestructive inspection test results, and provide information about defects to repair center, establish radiation areas for radiographic operations, perform computation and monitoring of individual personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitor personnel exposure data.
• Shall perform nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems to detect flaws such as cracks, delamination, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment.
• Shall determine metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors, operate, maintain, and inspect nondestructive equipment, perform operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools and perform silver recovery functions.
• Shall handle and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.

Job Requirements:

• Employee serving in this skill set shall be NAS410 level II or level III certified in each of the following methods: radiography, eddy current, penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic inspection methods.
• Employee shall have completed initial Non-Destructive Inspection Training Course and maintains basic qualification.
• Shall perform laser alignment using laser tracking equipment.
• These duties require moderate to strenuous effort to effectively fulfill job requirements.
• Employee shall be required to stand for long periods of time, frequently lift items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted and up to 60 pounds with assistance.
• Shall be required to stoop, bend, reach, stretch and climb in, around, and through aircraft with equipment.
• Employee shall possess good eyesight and color-vision.
• Entry into non-permit-required confined spaces may be required for this skillset on this task order
