Job summary

Jobot Consulting is seeking a Junior Accountant for a nonprofit client in Downtown Los Angeles on a contract basis. The role pays $25–$30 per hour and involves maintaining ledgers, preparing journals, and assisting with financial reporting and audits.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance with at least 2 years of experience, proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in accounting/finance.
• Experience with journal entries is required.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
• Excellent problem-solving and deadline-driven.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of GAAP and procedures.
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
• Strong organizational skills and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post daily journal entries with accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Participate in month-end closing, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Assist with audit process preparation and coordination.
• Support implementation of accounting systems and processes.
• Collaborate with team on general accounting duties and projects.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Support senior staff in financial data analysis.
• Help develop and implement improved workflows.
