Job summary

TechWish seeks an experienced instructional designer to plan and manage cross‑unit training initiatives and develop curricula aligned with Navy Federal learners’ needs. You will rapidly acquire subject matter, build courses, and refresh materials to sustain impact throughout their lifecycle.

The role is hybrid in Pensacola and involves coordinating with trainers, evaluating content, and delivering LMS-based solutions.

Experience in evaluating the effectiveness of courses and learning products and delivery methods.
Experience in researching/writing course content and/or developing courses, demonstrations, graphic designs and other technology‑driven products.
Advanced knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools and resources.
Working knowledge of instructional design to develop courses for products, processes and/or skills.
Advanced skill to successfully influence, lead and/or guide others towards goals.
Effective database and presentation software skills.
Effective organizational, planning and time management skills.
Effective research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Effective skill capturing and translating processes and requirements into easily understood terms.
Effective skill collaborating with various external and internal technical and/or functional contacts.

Bachelor's Degree in Education, business, communication, behavioral sciences, training development or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

Responsibilities

Plan and manage instructional design projects and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization.
Develop instructional courses tailored to meet the desired learning outcomes and needs of Navy Federal and the learners.
Collaborate to implement strategies for educating and training employees to achieve higher levels of performance.
Create curricula by quickly and efficiently learning and processing large volumes of information and by conducting research on subject matter.
Remain supportive of business unit/organizational training needs and refresh the training and materials as needed throughout its lifecycle.
Hybrid at Pensacola (GPO)
Advise and assist trainers on course evaluation results.
Collaborate with others to plan and design courses and curricula; ensure accuracy of content and test multimedia elements.
Conduct needs assessment on request from business unit management to provide customized training or individual guidance to improve and develop performance.
Create and edit new LMS learning activities; set up required training assignments in LMS; create custom LMS reports.
Develop and test course content, training games, graphic designs and other technology‑driven products.
Develop classroom, online and/or independent learning program content that transfers knowledge effectively and brings about desired behavior change.
Develop instructional strategies and courses for a business unit and/or cross‑company products and skills.
Evaluate the effectiveness of courses, learning products and delivery methods to ensure that the desired learning objectives and goals are achieved.
Involved in instructional design project teams with multiple deliverables, significant risk and complexity.
Select most effective instructional approach including a blend of instructor‑led and/or self‑directed techniques.
Select, modify, or establish a design and development model appropriate for a given project; analyze learning needs to assist in establishing learning objectives.
Train internal team members on effective use of classroom materials including ILT and VILT and environments.
Validate and integrate feedback, assessments and course evaluations into current and new training course content and/or delivery vehicle.
Conduct presentations for various groups including executive leadership.
