Job summary

The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking an EOIR Associate Attorney for immigration matters on a contract, appointment-based basis. The role includes appearing in immigration court or at USCIS interviews, with a flexible schedule and travel within the metro area as needed.

This hybrid position requires in-person court appearances and reports to the Managing Attorney, while you manage your caseload and collaborate with our Immigration team to deliver results for clients.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active bar license in the applicable state.
• Experience with immigration court proceedings or USCIS interviews.
• Ability to manage own schedule and communicate with a remote team.
• Reliable travel within the metro area and courthouses.
• Excellent writing and advocacy skills.
• Preferred: 1+ year of immigration-law experience.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Familiarity with EOIR proceedings and USCIS interviews.

Responsibilities

• Appear in immigration courts (master calendar, bond, EOIR).
• Represent clients in non-detention or detained matters as needed.
• Maintain control of your schedule for appearances within city/region.
• Prepare and review case documents, coordinate with central team.
• Report hearing outcomes back to the central team in a timely manner.
