Job summary
Genezen is seeking a hands-on manufacturing scientist in Indianapolis, IN to support viral vector production from upstream to downstream GMP operations, including aseptic cell culture, solution prep, chromatography, and fill/finish. The role combines independent work with supervision and requires strict documentation practices.
Qualifications include 1–4 years GMP experience in a biology-related field and knowledge of cell culture; associate or BS degree preferred.
Qualifications
- Associate or BS degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or similar field
- 1–4 years of relevant cleanroom GMP industry experience in R&D, product development, or operations
- Upstream cell culture experience with mammalian or insect cell culture in adherent or suspension platforms
- Experience with bioreactor inoculation and harvest
- Experience with downstream purification techniques including chromatography and filtration
- Aseptic operations in a Class 7 (Grade C) or higher cleanroom setting
Responsibilities
- Execute hands on project work from process development through manufacturing related to viral vector production
- Perform hands on laboratory procedures related to viral vector production and characterization
- Perform daily operations in the scale-up, production, harvest, purification, and fill/finish of viral vectors
- Maintain GDP documentation of processing activities
- Assist in SOP development and client-specific batch records
- Maintain manufacturing material supply and prepare spaces for manufacturing
- Follow detailed instructions with a high level of focus and attention to detail
- Complete documentation accurately and in a timely fashion
- Assist in troubleshooting upstream and downstream manufacturing issues
- Cross-train staff and support continuous improvement activities
