Acrivault is hiring a Founding Frontend Engineer for a four-month contract (Month 2–5) to build the V0.1 customer dashboard using React 18, TypeScript, Tailwind, and Storybook. You will align with the backend OpenAPI specs and deliver modules across Discover, Govern, Monitor, Rotate, and authentication flows.

Remote role (US time zones) with a $60/hour rate, 35 hours/week, ~17 weeks; conversion to full-time leadership possible later, depending on performance and funding.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production frontend engineering with React 18+.
• Experience building data-dense SaaS dashboards (10k+ rows).
• Proficiency with OpenAPI 3.0 contracts and frontend-Backend collaboration.
• Able to read a Figma spec and critique UX at enterprise scale.

About Acrivault

Acrivault is an early stage cybersecurity SaaS company headquartered in Houston, Texas. We are building the AI Native Non Human Identity (NHI) Security Platform purpose designed for mid market technology, financial services, healthcare, and defense companies. Our architecture ships AI native from the foundation: agent session replay, an AI Bill of Materials lineage graph, sub millisecond prompt injection detection, and SPIFFE based workload attestation, all enforced within a 4.5 millisecond p99 authorization budget. We are at the founding stage and hiring the team that will define the company for the next decade.

About this role

We are hiring our Founding Frontend Engineer on a four month contract from Month 2 through end of Month 5. You will take the architect’s UX specifications and the Backend Engineer’s OpenAPI 3.0 specifications and build the customer facing Acrivault dashboard the V0.1 product that design partners will use from Month 6 onward.

This is a contract role for the V0.1 build. Conversion to full time is possible but not guaranteed at the end of the contract; it depends on the Frontend Engineer’s performance, the company’s hiring sequence, and the funding state at that point. Strong contractors will be the first candidates considered for the full time Frontend Lead role planned for Month 7 9.

What you’ll build

You will build the five module dashboards aligned to the v2 AI Native architecture (the five engineering pillars), the authentication flow, and the responsive layouts that work on laptops and tablets. The stack is React 18 with TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, React Query, Recharts, and Storybook.

• Module 1 Discover: the NHI inventory table (sortable, filterable, paginated), the risk score badge, the per NHI drill down (attributes, relationships, recent activity).
• Module 2 Govern: the policy authoring UI (rule builder, approval workflows, policy bundle versioning), the privilege drift dashboard.
• Module 3 Monitor: the real time behavioral scoring view, the alert feed (LLM summarized), the per tenant SLO dashboard.
• Module 4 Rotate: rotation job queues, rotation schedule configuration, rotation history with audit trail, one click emergency rotate all.
• Authentication flow: login, SSO, MFA, per tenant SSO configuration wizard for design partners.
• The Storybook component library that becomes Acrivault’s frontend design system.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of production frontend engineering, with deep fluency in React 18+, TypeScript (strict mode), Tailwind CSS, and React Query (TanStack Query).
• Direct experience building data dense SaaS dashboards: sortable/filterable/paginated tables at 10,000+ row scale, real time data streaming, time series visualizations with Recharts or D3.
• Production experience with OpenAPI 3.0 contracts (generating clients from specs, handling streaming endpoints, working with backend engineers on contract design).
• Strong product sensibility. You can read a Figma spec and tell the designer where the interaction model breaks at scale. You push back on UX that would not work for an enterprise security buyer.
• Comfort with Jest unit testing, React Testing Library, Playwright end to end testing, and Storybook for component level documentation.
• Excellent written communication and the discipline to deliver against documented specifications without scope creep.

Strongly preferred

• Prior experience building cybersecurity, IAM, or compliance dashboards. You understand the security buyer’s mental model.
• Experience with timeline replay UIs or event stream UIs (sentry.io, datadog.com, splunk.com, or similar).
• Design tastes: you can produce a polished UI from a wireframe without an in house designer for the first six months.
• Accessibility first development experience (WCAG 2.2 AA compliance for enterprise procurement).

Compensation and structure

• Months 2 5 contract: $60/hour, 35 hours per week, 1099 engagement. Total contract value is approximately $44,200 over 17 weeks.
• Company issued MacBook Pro through Electric.ai from Day 1 of the contract. SaaS seats provided (Linear, Notion, GitHub, Slack, Google Workspace, Figma).
• First consideration for the full time Frontend Lead role planned for Month 7 9 if conversion is pursued typical conversion compensation $150,000 base.

NOTE ON CONVERSION TO FULL TIME

Unlike the Backend Engineer role, the Frontend Engineer engagement is structured as a true contract for the build. Conversion to full time is possible but is not part of the initial offer. Strong contractors will be the first candidates considered when the Frontend Lead role opens at Month 7 9. If you are seeking a guaranteed full time conversion, the Backend Engineer role above is a better fit.
