Job summary

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Minneapolis seeks a course-contracted faculty member to teach in the M.S. in Information Technology Project Management and the M.S. in Project Management programs. Courses may be day, evening, weekends, or online.

The position is term-by-term, requires on-campus teaching in Minneapolis, with online teaching available, and pays $3,300 to $4,200 per course contract. Candidates with PMI and Scrum certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree required in area of expertise being taught — project management or business degree.
• PMP or industry certification required (i.e., Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Owner).
• Required to teach on the Minneapolis campus. Online teaching available, but on-campus teaching on the Minneapolis campus is required.
• Experience in higher education strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide varied and relevant instruction designed to meet the educational needs of assigned students in the Graduate Programs in Project Management in accordance with the University’s and Program’s policies and curricula.
• Responds to the special needs and reasonable accommodations of students with disabilities. Works with the Director of Access Services to ensure accommodations.
• Provide course syllabus and submit copies to program director and academic dean.
• Maintain and submit accurate grade rosters and class attendance records within deadlines.
• Assess student progress and post grades.
• Provide for academic assistance with minimum specified office hours per week for each course taught.
• Adhere to all faculty, department, employee, and university policies.
• Participate in professional development activities and review the SGPP Faculty Handbook.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor and ensure satisfactory attendance.
