Leapros Skilled Trades is hiring a Commercial Painter in Wauconda, IL. This contract role focuses on preparing exterior surfaces and applying paints and coatings to commercial buildings, with work at heights and on various substrates.

You will operate airless sprayers and power washers, and travel to multiple sites in the Wauconda area. The position requires experience with exterior surface prep, coating materials, and safe work practices, including fall protection.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial exterior painting.
• Proficiency with painting tools and equipment, including airless sprayers and power washers.
• Knowledge of exterior coating materials and their compatibility with substrates.
• Surface preparation techniques for exterior environments.
• Ability to work independently or on contract-based projects.
• Reliable transportation to travel to job sites in the Wauconda area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exterior surfaces for painting by power washing, scraping, sanding, and patching as required.
• Apply paints, stains, and protective coatings to commercial building exteriors using brushes, rollers, and airless spray equipment.
• Erect and work safely from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts to access elevated work areas.
• Mix and match paint colors and consistencies for uniform coverage on large surfaces.
• Protect surrounding property from overspray and debris during application.
• Operate and maintain painting equipment, including power washers and sprayers.
• Identify and repair surface imperfections in substrates before coating.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site and store materials safely.
• Follow project schedules and specifications to meet quality standards and deadlines.
