Job summary

Enverus is seeking a Commercial Title Examiner to join the Energy Project Team on a remote, contractor basis. You will conduct thorough title searches, identify defects, and resolve issues to ensure clean titles for utility or construction projects.

You will collaborate with Energy teams and internal partners using advanced technical and analytical skills. The role requires 5+ years as a Landman or Energy Title Examiner, 3+ years as a Commercial Title Examiner, and knowledge of title platforms

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience as a Landman/Energy Title Examiner or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' experience as a Commercial Title Examiner or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Working knowledge of commercial and energy title, including unimproved land acquisition and disposition.
  • Ability to communicate and work with team members to resolve title flaws, issues, failures, or circumstances.
  • Ability to review and understand deeds, mortgages, wills, probate records, etc.
  • Able to review legal descriptions, sketches, surveys, ROW maps, construction plans.
  • Experience with RamQuest and Integrity Title Plant.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and deliver solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive title searches and identify defects.
  • Resolve issues in title documentation and ensure clear, encumbrance-free titles.
  • Assist with preparation/review of conveyance instruments and legal descriptions.
  • Prepare initial Energy Reports and title commitments per procedural guidelines.
  • Support development of a scalable title process through SOPs and Service Legal Agreements.
  • Collaborate with Energy Team to remove blockers and escalate when needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

We're currently seeking a Commercial Title Examiner to join our Operations team.

Performance Objectives

A Commercial/ EnergyTitle Examiner. Energy Project Team (Remote, Contractor position) in the US. This person will beresponsible forconducting comprehensive title searches,identifying, and resolving defects, and ensuring that property titles areclear and free from encumbrances for utility or construction projects.Searching back to Patent or as far as the Integrity Title Plant goes.

  • Serve as subject matter expert insovereigntytitle, including examination,mineral/royalty,leasehold,underwriting /curativematters,and title insurance requirements.
  • Provide support as a trusted advisor and partner to our Energy teams and other internal partners, including the use of advanced technical and analytical skills to review mortgages, liens, legal descriptions, CC&Rs, easements,mineral/royalty conveyances,reservations, patents,production, leasehold,surveys sketches, surveys, right of ways maps and constructions plans.
  • Assistwith preparation and review of instruments of conveyance and related documents for proper form, accuracy, appropriateness, and completion, plot metes andboundslegal descriptions.
  • Resolve issues such as missing information, incomplete,inaccurate,or contradictory information contained in thetitledocumentation.
  • Prepare and/or reviewinitialEnergy Reports and/ ortitle commitment, preliminary report or proforma based on the application of procedural guidelines.
  • With management, support the development and implementation of aconsistent,repeatable,and scalable title process through Service Legal Agreements and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Dive into the weeds with the commercial Energy team on a regular basis,removing blockers, handlingescalations,and communicating up and across asappropriate toassurea smooth and seamless experience.
  • Performs other related duties asrequired.
Competitive candidate profile
  • At least5years' experienceas aLandman/EnergyTitle Examineror equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a Commercial Title Examineror equivalentBachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Working Knowledge of commercialand energytitle, including unimproved land acquisition and disposition.
  • Provenability to communicateand work with team members to find resolutions for title flaws, issues, failures, or circumstances.
  • Proven ability to examine all relevant public records related to properties, including deeds, mortgages, wills, probate records, divorce records, court judgments, tax records, and more.
  • Able to review and understand legal descriptions, sketches, surveys, right of way maps, construction plans.
  • Able toassistwith the preparation and review of instruments of conveyance and related documents as well as plotmetesandboundslegal descriptions,and understanding of PLSS, Lot/Block systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand the business needs and partner with the business, commercial Energy Team, to create solutions and effectively deliver results.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to analyze,understandand interpret title related documents.
  • Experience with industry recognized titleplatform, preferably RamQuest and Integrity Title Plant
