Job summary

SGS is seeking Electrical & Instrumentation Inspectors on a contract basis. Work is on-site, variable in duration, and paid by hours or days spent on assignments. Responsibilities include inspecting installations, testing systems, and producing NCRs.

Preferred qualifications include AEI/IAEI/CEI/CompEx and NFPA 70 knowledge, with at least five years of E&I experience and shop/vendor surveillance exposure. Travel and per diem may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical & instrumentation inspection.
• Knowledge of NEC/IEC codes and safety standards.
• Ability to document non-conformities clearly and create NCRs.

Responsibilities

• On-site inspections of electrical/instrumentation installations to verify compliance with NEC/IEC.
• Test systems (wiring, panels, sensors, controls, calibration) and document non-conformities.
• Verify installation of components and instruments; conduct continuity and insulation tests.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications and engineering drawings; reference NEC/IEC as needed.
• Communicate findings effectively with suppliers, engineers, and team members.
• Investigate root causes of non-conformities and assist in corrective actions.
