Job summary

Maxwell seeks a Contract Due Diligence Underwriter to review multi-state Non-QM, Conventional, Jumbo, Government, and other loan packages, protecting the integrity of the loan manufacturing process for purchases and refinances.

You’ll analyze borrower's credit, income, collateral, and investor guidelines, enter findings into Maxwell's proprietary software, and recommend resolutions while staying current on evolving regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of underwriting experience, current in the field.
• Minimum 1 year of due diligence experience at a mortgage lender.
• Familiar with post-close quality control best practices.
• Strong knowledge of non-QM loan processes and requirements.
• Deep understanding of DSCR/business purpose loans.
• Ability to apply multiple investor guidelines and overlays.
• Skilled at accurately calculating income across various earners.
• Strong appraisal review capability.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Proficient in pipeline management in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage loan files for accuracy and required documents.
• Perform due diligence review to ensure compliance with investor guidelines and AUS.
• Analyze credit, collateral, and repayment capacity.
• Calculate LTV and debt-to-income accurately.
• Review contracts, title commitments, and loan-pertinent docs.
• Enter findings into proprietary software.
• Conduct risk analysis and propose resolutions.
• Stay updated on agency, state, and investor guidelines.
• Attend ongoing training and meet daily production goals.
• Adhere to core values and perform other duties as assigned.
