Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking Data Scientists to develop advanced analytics, machine learning models, and data-driven solutions that transform complex datasets into actionable insights. You will leverage statistics, ML, data mining, and visualization to support mission objectives while collaborating with SMEs, engineers, and stakeholders to automate analytic workflows.

The role focuses on producing descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, validating models, and delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• A Master's degree may substitute for 2 years analytics experience and 1 year programming experience.
• A PhD may substitute for 4 years analytics experience for Level 2.
• Eight years experience for Level 2 with five years programming experience for tools like Python, R, SAS, or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning, statistical, graph-based, and heuristic algorithms to analyze complex datasets.
• Produce data visualizations that provide insight into data structure, trends, and operational relevance.
• Collaborate with SMEs to identify valuable information within raw data and develop extraction methodologies.
• Transform customer objectives into quantitative models and software solutions.
• Develop descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support decision-making.
• Design and execute statistical tests to support data-driven recommendations.
• Create feature vectors and datasets for analytics development and model training.
• Generate reports and presentations communicating findings to stakeholders.
• Partner with software engineers to integrate analytics into workflows.
• Implement prototype analytics and models in production environments.
• Develop experiments to generate training data when datasets are unavailable.
• Identify and select appropriate ML algorithms for datasets and mission needs.
