Job summary

SAIC seeks a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in El Segundo, CA, to craft and enforce security plans across domains for SCI/SAP environments. The role focuses on safeguarding classified information, managing personnel security actions, and supporting surveillance activities for ongoing programs.

The candidate will handle controlled documents, deliver Security Awareness Training, and investigate incidents, ensuring compliance with NISPOM, ICD directives, and DoD policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years related experience; 4 additional years accepted in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of NISPOM / ICDs with focus on ICD 705 series, DoD 5205.07 series, Executive Orders, etc.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office suite (MSWord, Excel, Power Point).
• Experience utilizing customer databases such as DISS/JADE/SIMs.
• Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
• Willing to be nominated for access to SCI/SAP and consent to a Polygraph examination.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of security plans and review guidelines and procedures for Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical/Technical Security, Classification Management, COMSEC, and Program Security.
• Maintain a secure environment to facilitate development and execution of classified programs; enforce DoD and DoD security requirements.
• Support day-to-day Personnel Security actions for SCI and SAP activities.
• Maintain accountability of controlled documents and media, including inventories and destruction/transfer records.
• Present Security Awareness Training and Education (SATE) briefings.
• Investigate security incidents and prepare reports with corrective/preventive action recommendations.
