Job summary

St. Croix Hospice is seeking a Staff Attorney to provide legal counsel across contracting, regulatory, and operational matters, with a focus on drafting and negotiating complex agreements and maintaining templates.

This in-person role supports Contracts Specialists, partners with leadership, ensures HIPAA compliance, and coordinates with outside counsel as needed. It requires a JD, bar license, and several years of experience.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the applicable state.
• 3+ years progressive legal experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal staff clearly.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary legal advisor for contract lifecycle management.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret vendor, professional services, technology, confidentiality, and other contracts.
• Develop, revise, and maintain contract templates and negotiation playbooks.
• Provide guidance on legal risk, compliance, and regulatory matters to leadership and Contracts Specialists.
