Job summary

  • Draft and manage provider agreements, LOAs, amendments, and related documents using approved templates.
  • Support end-to-end contract lifecycle from development through renewal and administration.
  • Negotiate standard provider agreements and routine amendments with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure contracts comply with policies, regulatory requirements, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Provider Relations, Legal, Finance, and Operations on contracting initiatives.
  • Develop dashboards and metrics to monitor contract status and renewals.

Contract Coordinator

The Contract Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Network Contracting & Operations department across CHS's direct services, including the Independent Physician Association (IPA), Accountable Care Organization (ACO), Enhanced Care Management (ECM), and other value-based care initiatives.

FLSA Status: Exempt | Salary Range: $72,000 - $91,000 | Reports To: Manager | Direct Reports: None | Location: Los Angeles- Hybrid | Travel: Up to 20% | Work Type: Regular | Schedule: Full Time

Position Description:

This position supports the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including contract development, negotiation, execution, implementation, ongoing contract administration, and maintenance of the organization's contract repository and contract management system. The Contract Coordinator independently negotiates standard provider agreements using approved templates, contract language, and established contracting guidelines while partnering with leadership on non-standard contract terms, complex negotiations, reimbursement methodologies, and strategic initiatives. Working closely with Business Development, Provider Relations, Credentialing, Operations, Legal, Finance, Claims, Provider Data Management, MSO, and other internal stakeholders, the Contract Coordinator helps ensure providers, hospitals, ancillary organizations, and strategic partners are successfully contracted, operationally implemented, and supported throughout the contract lifecycle.

Contract Development & Document Preparation
  • Draft provider participation agreements, LOAs, amendments, addenda, notices, and other contract-related documents using approved templates.
  • Prepare contract redlines and incorporate revisions from internal stakeholders and external contracting parties.
  • Coordinate internal review, approval, execution, and distribution of contract documents.
  • Maintain contract templates, document libraries, and standard contract language.
  • Ensure contract documentation is complete, accurate, and organized.
Contract Administration & Implementation
  • Support the end-to-end contract lifecycle from intake through execution, implementation, renewal, amendment, termination, and ongoing administration.
  • Maintain the organization's contract repository and contract management system, ensuring executed agreements, amendments, templates, renewals, expirations, notices, and key contract milestones are accurate and current.
  • Maintain contract records, provider data, effective dates, renewal deadlines, notice periods, and expirations.
  • Coordinate provider onboarding, implementation, provider maintenance, roster changes, demographic updates, and administrative amendments.
  • Monitor implementation and operational readiness.
  • Develop reports and dashboards on contract status, renewals, and network growth.
Provider & Network Contracting
  • Support contracting across the IPA, ACO, ECM, and other value-based care initiatives.
  • Independently negotiate standard provider agreements and routine amendments.
  • Escalate non-standard terms, reimbursement requests, legal issues, and complex negotiations.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned providers.
  • Coordinate implementation with internal and external stakeholders.
Contract Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure contracts comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain audit-ready contract files.
  • Monitor contractual obligations and compliance.
  • Assist with policies, procedures, templates, and SOPs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Business Development, Provider Relations, Credentialing, Operations, Finance, Legal, Claims, Compliance, Quality, Care Management, MSO, and other departments.
  • Participate in provider implementation meetings and payer discussions.
  • Support enterprise contracting initiatives.
Process Improvement & Reporting
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and operational metrics.
  • Identify workflow improvements.
  • Support contract management systems and automation.
  • Assist leadership with strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of healthcare contracting, provider relations, managed care, IPA/MSO operations, or related experience preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in healthcare contracting, provider contracting, managed care, provider relations, IPA/MSO operations, or a related healthcare field preferred.
  • Experience working with hospitals, physician groups, ancillary providers, health plans, or delegated provider networks preferred.
  • Knowledge of provider contracting reimbursement methodologies, contract lifecycle management, onboarding, and provider maintenance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Monday.com, Docusign, and contract management systems preferred.
