Withum is seeking a Contract Compliance Senior Consultant for our Risk Advisory practice. The role involves performing royalty audits, franchise compliance audits, revenue participation audits, lease reviews, and vendor audits for contract-based projects.

The Senior Consultant can be based in New York, NY; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Princeton, NJ; or Philadelphia, PA, in a hybrid setting (3 days in the office).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA license or working toward CPA/CFE certification.
• 3+ years in public accounting or contract compliance.
• Effective client service and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience evaluating contractual obligations.
• Proficient in Excel and data analytics software.

Responsibilities

• Assist audit teams with planning and testing franchisees' compliance, financial and brand management, for contractual obligations.
• Analyze franchisees' financial records to determine reportable income and obligations.
• Research franchisees, owners, and related parties related to contracts.
• Manage project process and client communications to ensure timeliness.
• Prepare work papers summarizing data, conclusions, and findings.
• Document franchisee responses and verify contract compliance.
• Prepare written reports with explanations and fee recalculations.

Job Description

The Risk Advisory practice at Withum is experiencing significant growth driven by market demand for assurance services. Our team is seeking a Contract Compliance Senior Consultant with experience performing royalty audits, franchise compliance audits, revenue participation audits, lease agreement reviews, vendor audits, and contractual based projects.

The Senior Consultant can be based in our New York, NY; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Princeton, NJ; or Philadelphia, PA office. This position is a hybrid role (3 days in the office).

How You'll Spend Your Time

• Assisting audit teams with planning and testing of franchisees and licensees' compliance, financial and brand management, with the contractual obligations for all contract compliance audits.
• Performing analysis of the franchisees and licensees' financial records to determine reportable income and other contractual obligations.
• Perform independent research on franchisees, owners, and related parties and businesses to the contractual relationship.
• Manage the project process and ensure the timeliness of completion, and communicate with the clients to ensure their cooperation.
• Preparing work papers summarizing evidentiary data obtained, conclusions reached, and findings due to our clients.
• Document the franchisees and licensees' response to our testing and verify if the response is in accordance with the contract obligations.
• Prepare a written report with a documented explanation of the process, franchisees and licensees' response, and the recalculation of fees due to our clients based on the reporting requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA/CFE certification, or other equivalent certifications.
• 3+ years of experience working for a public accounting firm or performing contract compliance engagements.
• Effective client service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience evaluating, analyzing and interpreting contractual obligations.
• Strong Excel and other data analytic software skills.
• Knowledge of various business processes including ICFR, Revenue, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Financial Close, etc.
• Desire and ability to work in a team environment.

Compensation

New York: $90,000 - $110,000

NJ/Pennsylvania: $85,000 - $110,000
