hireCNC in New Orleans, LA is seeking 4–6 experienced CNC Lathe Machinists for an immediate contract opportunity. Earn $40–$45/hour with $175/day per diem, and participate in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.

Main duties include complete CNC setups, tooling loads, offsets, program edits, and strict tolerance control with regular inspections. Senior machinists may assist with CAM review and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC setup experience.
• CNC Lathe experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform complete machine setups.
• Experience making offsets and basic program edits.
• Blueprint reading skills.
• GD&T knowledge.
• G & M Code knowledge.
• Strong inspection skills with micrometers, calipers, gauges.
• Ability to work significant overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete CNC machine setups.
• Load tooling and workholding.
• Set offsets and adjust programs.
• Edit feeds and speeds as required.
• Run production while maintaining tolerances.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
• Read blueprints and travelers.
• Complete machine changeovers and teardown.
• Troubleshoot machining issues.
• Help train and mentor less experienced machinists.
• Senior-level: provide CNC programming support, CAM review, process improvements, setup documentation, tooling optimization, and technical leadership.
