Mykelly seeks a hands-on CATIA Designer to support mechanical product design in Brewster, NY. You will create and update 2D drawings and 3D models with CATIA V5, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams, and you will work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Applied Science, CADD or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of mechanical design using CATIA V5 or similar 3D CAD system.
• Experience creating and modifying both 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards.
• Knowledge of GD&T preferred.
• Experience performing dimensional tolerance stack-up analysis preferred.
• Hands-on experience building and evaluating prototypes.
• Experience with manufacturing and assembly processes preferred (injection molding, die casting, stamping, machining).
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to support multiple engineers.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical product design as part of a cross-functional team.
• Update and convert designs to CATIA V5 from other CAD platforms.
• Create moderately complex components and complete assemblies using 3D CAD.
• Design components and subassemblies using CATIA V5.
• Create and update 2D engineering drawings utilizing GD&T.
• Develop components for manufacturing processes including molding, casting, stamping, and machining.
• Create and maintain BOM structures.
• Maintain engineering documentation in PLM system across lifecycle.
• Perform basic calculations: tolerance stack-up, spring, and press-fit analyses.
• Maintain documentation for engineering work.
• Capture and analyze test data for product performance.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to team members.
• Analyze data to resolve design/manufacturing problems.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing to develop cost-effective designs.
• Apply manufacturing knowledge to support product/tooling design.
• Specify 3D geometry, 2D drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and stack-ups.
